The women artisans of San Luis, State of Oaxaca, Mexico, have been mastering palm weaving techniques for generations to create these stunning handmade lidded palm baskets. A lot of time and skill is required as the palm leaves are stripped and dyed then woven using traditional Mixtec patterns.
Thanks to its flexibility, palm is a material that has been used in many communities around the world to develop useful items for everyday life, such as baskets for storing grains.
