Children's Books for Haiti Donation Project

Wonderful progress has been made. A year ago on my visit to Haiti, they had just broken ground to build a new library in rural Haiti. The current library at that time were three small, dark rooms in a small building. However it serviced thousands of people in this remote, rural area. Making information accessible to so many.

Now with this beautiful space, so much more great work can be done for the young and old in this region. I know from first-hand experience that books can open all kinds of life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities for children. That being said, we want to get as many children's books into the hands of as many children in this Haiti community as we can.

Our Goal: 500 children's books donated by May 6, 2018.

We are partnering with two (2) local brick & mortar bookstores and one online bookseller:

Source Booksellers, 4240 Cass Avenue, Suite 105, Detroit, MI 48201 (313) 832-1155

The Book Beat, 26010 Greenfield Rd., Oak Park, MI 48237, (248) 968-1190

We Are Lit Grand Rapids, LLC,   Update April 22, 2018: We are Lit has curated a small collection of children's books in the Haitian Creole/French language and created a special collection on their store's website Children's Books for Haiti. Use the following link:

There are two ways you can donate:
1) You can choose to go into one of the physical locations or online and purchase a children's book. They will order it directly from a group of publishers which will consolidate orders to be drop-shipped to the library.

2) You can donate a dollar amount on our fundraising page. We will order books directly the publishers via one of our partner booksellers.
